    Wills

There are many benefits to having a will in place regardless of your asset position. We are all concerned about our loved ones and how they will cope with our passing. The last concern a loved one may wish to have is uncertainty surrounding financial affairs or jumping through the hoops to establish themselves as the right applicants under the laws of intestacy which apply when someone passes away without a will in place.

Craigieburn Lawyers will guide you through the process and advise on any further steps required for the completion of your will. However, if you wish to be prepared, we recommend that you consider who you will appoint as your executor and consider any specific gifts you may wish to bequeath.

    Power of Attorney

There are two main types of power of attorney documents that we recommend for all our clients.

The first is an enduring power of attorney which grants someone else to act on your behalf of personal and financial matters. This will enable your attorney to act on your behalf in relation to matters you have authorised them to act.

The second is an appointment of medical decision maker. This enable the medical decision maker to make medical decisions on your behalf and to speak with your treating practitioners.
